Cup Anemometer Classification
We perform cup anemometer classifications following the procedure of IEC 61400-12-1:2017.
We also perform ASTM tests of anemometers and vanes according to ASTM D5096 Standard Test Method for Determining the Performance of a Cup Anemometer or Propeller Anemometer and ASTM D5366 Standard Test Method for Determining the Dynamic Performance of a Wind Vane, respectively.
Some of our experimental procedures have been developed in collaboration with DTU Wind Energy (Technical University of Denmark). Below is a list of possible tests:
- Rotor torque characteristic
- Bearing friction at temperatures -20 to 40 deg. C.
- Tilt response
- Yaw sensitivity
- Threshold
- Distance constant
Furthermore, the classification includes:
- Numerical simulation of anemometer response using software verified by DTU and compliant with the requirements of IEC 61400-12-1:2017, Annex J.
- Full documentation of tests and reporting final class indices for classes A, B, C and D.
